She Loved Her 3 Girls...

"Linda Panny Leapy"

"Toothpick" would you stop being such a chatter box

K-A-T-H-Y-Y-Y-Y-Y

That’s what "Little Brat" would call us

But when our full names were called out loud we knew we were in trouble.

Yet you took what little you had mom and made our childhood joyful

Even just 3 different colored jump ropes

Or clothes that you made for our dolls,

You watched us play, fight and cry: yet you loved us just the same

You were more of a mom to the 3 of us than most moms are to just one

And no man could have done the job of you mom.

You came from a family of 5 girls and 2 boys

From Dalark, Arkansas

Where you were born "Unnamed Wilkins",

But you had a name with us mom. . . .LOVE

When you got older, you were a WAC

That’s Corporal Wilkins in the Women’s Army Corp during WWII

And then your life changed, you had us, your girls

And if that wasn’t enough, Puddles came into your life

And gave you more puddles than just his name.

Growing up mom, we strived to be like you.

It’s because of you, we made such good moms

During your 82 years on this earth from 1919 to 2002

You saw and heard many changes

But don’t worry mom

No more radios or crying kids will you have to turn down

For your ears can rest now mom

You gave the world 3 loving families

And you loved our kids just as you loved us

But sadden are they,

No more Christmas ornaments

No more cards with a dollar for every holiday

And no more tape cases

Well mom we knew the end was going to come

You had many ups and down over many years

And we were glad to have you in our life for as long as we did

Yet our hearts are crying now because your heart has faltered

And we never saw it coming

This time you went in

We were all round you mom,

Your girls, your grandkids and great grandchildren

Yet you were never alone,

With us or without us there, you were loved

As you were slipping away from us

You were glowing from the reflections of the angels around you

Your three girls by your bedside

Like crying kittens, at their mother’s side,

Crying "come back to us"

But you were ready to leave your kittens and mittens behind

You were leaving the world as quietly as you entered it

And the time is here now…

Bye now

It’s ok mom, you taught us well,

We love you always . . . . Your girls
