Mrs. Niemeyer-Sutherland made her professional debut with Riverside Opera at age fifteen as the “Sheperd Boy” in Tosca with Renata Scotto. She has performed with the Aspen Music Festival Opera Theater Center, Pasadena Lyric Opera, and the Redlands Theatre Festival in such roles as “Micaela” in Carmen, “Barbarina” in Le Nozze di Figaro, “Yum Yum” in the Mikado, “Mabel” in The Pirates of Penzance and “Johanna” in Sweeney Todd. In addition to her opera credits, Rachel has performed in a variety of Disney and musical theater shows as the “Blue Fairy” in Pinocchio, “Maud Dunlop” in the Music Man, the “Bird Lady” in Mary Poppins, and “Belle” in Christmas Carol. She is also a frequent performer at Ben Bollingers Candlelight Pavilion. She received her BM in Vocal Performance from the USC School of Music.
